Sew Sew Modern 4 Swap Items!

I decided to participate in the Sew Sew Modern 4 Swap because I had so much fun with round 3. I received my items from my partner last week and quickly posted them on instagram. I suppose I should probably post them here too! Sorry...instagram has sorta taken over my life lately...

Here is what I received from the wonderfully talented Kristya of Catiedyd Designs!

Isn't this pillow cover awesome?!?! I LOVE it! All those yummy colors and cute Heather Ross prints in the centers, the beautiful back in Denyse Schmidt and the hidden zipper in a happenin' hot pink!

The bag I received is so cute! love the Tula Pink raccoon print with the lime green liner inside! It's the perfect size for me too. I don't like my bags too bag because it's too easy to load it up with pointless stuff. I seriously love both items a bunch! Thanks again Kristya!

241 Totes Oh My!

Before I get started, I want to announce the winner of the Sew Lux Fabric Club Medallion BOM PDF Pattern Subscription (what a mouthful that is)....Congrats to comment #60 Amy of Amy's Crafty Shenanigans!

So I totally took advantage of Anna's (Noodlehead) Black Friday sale and decided to purchase the 241 Tote pattern. I was so anxious to try it out that I made a bag within minutes of buying it! I had all the stuff so picking out the fabrics was holding me up from getting started. 

The first three bags are going to new homes for Christmas. I hope they'll be loved because I want to keep them all. Some have zippers, pockets, or patchwork. I made another one but I'll have to show pictures on another post for that one.

The last bag is for my partner in the Sew Sew Modern 4 Swap. I cut up a Briar Rose charm pack into 2.5 squares and got sewing them together for the front panel. I found some Central Park by Kate Spain in my stash and thought it matched perfectly for the back panel.

That's all I can say. Seriously. I am absolutely dumbfounded by the swap item I received. My ultimate swap wish was granted with this one....and I am soooo happy! You should have seen my face when I opened it up! I literally squealed and jumped up and down. Seriously...ask my sister and mom who were with me when I opened the package.

Here is my absolutely gorgeous new weekender! I CANNOT wait to use it! (now for a trip somewhere, ANYWHERE!)

I am definitely using this as my hospital bag when I deliver this little gummy bear!

I know...you're jealous. I'm jealous of myself! Is that even possible? I'm still pinching myself to make sure this is for reals! I still can't believe this is all mine!

Sew Sew Modern 3 Swap - "Small" Item: Fabulous Mini

I had no idea what to make/buy my partner for their Small item for the Sew Sew Modern 3 Swap. I was going through some little doll/mini quilt booklets I had and thought it was a good idea. A quilt always goes good with a pillow...even if it's a doll quilt instead of a large queen sized one. I'm sure she'll appreciate it. I tried to use the same bright colors I used in the pillow cover. 

The whole piece was hand quilted with Perle Cotton in Black. I LOVE the way it turned out. If I didn't have the intention of giving it away it would be really hard to part with. I used a fun Sateen material on the back that I picked up from Crate & Barrel a few months ago. I matched the binding from the pillow cover and Voila! Another Swap Completed! I'm so anxious to see what I get in return! Everyone has made some pretty amazing things so far!

Sew Sew Modern 3 Swap - Large Item: Pillow Cover

I went ahead and made a pillow cover as the "large" item for my partner. I hope she likes it. From the information I gathered of my partner...I think this is her style. I'm sort of hoping she doesn't like it because I will gladly keep it for myself! I love the way it turned out and how fun it is! I finished it off with hand stitching each center square, a hidden zipper on the back and did the binding by hand.
