QAYG Herringbone Quilt FINISH!

Yowza! It seems like FOREVER since I've actually made a quilt AND posted about it! I guess there hasn't been much time for quilt making...just small projects and swap items.

Well here it is! Inspired by Maureen Cracknell's Anna Maria Horner version. I just LOVED her quilt the instant I saw it so I HAD to make my own. I don't own tons of AMH prints so I went through all my fabrics and picked all my most brightest, bolded, clashiest, and favorite prints! Thanks Kaffe Fassett, Amy Butler, Anna Maria Horner, Tula Pink & Alexander Henry! You helped make this quilt awesome! I was able to get it done from start to finish in a matter of days...and yes....I quilted it myself. FYI- I usually send out my quilts for the quilting because I'm impatient and when the top is done....so am I.

I was able to drag it all the way with me to our family cabin in Utah to take some gorgeous pictures in the snow. I love how the bright colors really pop against the white snow.

Yep...I love it! Will you make one?

It was a pretty simple quilt to put together following the tutorial from Maureen Cracknell. Here is the gorgeous fabric pull before I started...

  7. Well, you just totally made my night, thank you!! One of your followers left me the nicest comment and sent me here to see your quilt. It's beautiful and looks so much like mine, which has become the house favorite with it's pretty, bold colors and flannel back! I've decided to make at least three more as soon as possible to give to my sisters. Thanks again!!!

  23. Love all that color! I am working on a QAYG as I write this. Not as gorgeous as yours since it is a baseball t-shirt quilt! This must be a great way to make braid quilts or similar since it would reduce much of the stretch. You definitely have some great backdrops for pictures! Beautiful!
