Hello everyone!

It's feels good to be back! For those of you who are wondering...baby Lincoln is doing great! Things are getting adjusted around here and everyone is doing fine. Charlie just loves him. I just had my 6 week postpartum appointment and was given the green light on resuming normal activities as well as exercising. I'm really looking forward to spending more time outside and getting into shape....for reals this time.

I'll post more pics of the baby soon :)

Anyways...

With another sleeping schedule to get used to, I've only had the time and energy to sew a couple things. I finally put together The Social Tote by Carolyn Friedlander. I went for a bright modern version. The outside fabric and pincushion prints are from Ziggy by French Bull, the trim is Waterfront Park Domino Dots by Michael Miller and the inside polka dot print is something I picked up at Hobby Lobby forever ago. I love the way it holds my stuff and looks so pretty doing it!

Here are the March Scrapbeelicious Bee blocks for Liz I somehow managed to get done. I seriously don't really own any low volume prints so I really had to dig into my scraps for this one! And...all the half square triangles were a total pain in the butt so I don't think I'll be making anymore of these blocks. The trimming alone was insanity I tell you. Great block but a lot of work! This is definitely a block to choose for a quilting bee. Now onto the April blocks!

I also worked on a birthday package for Nicole of Snip Snippets for our Birthday Bash Swap.  I totally forgot to take pictures though so you'll have to wait until she gets it! Sorry, baby brain. This month is my birthday so I get to take a break from this swap until June. Yay!!!

Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 71-100!

Umm, would you think I'm crazy if I told you I sewed up the last 30 blocks in 2 days? Cause, I did. It's so crazy to think that I managed to sew up 67 blocks in the past week and a half!

I just couldn't stop. I was on a roll and having so much fun going through my scraps! Now for the fun part...laying them out and sewing them all together. This is going to be one crazy wild quilt made from all my funky scraps! Too bad the quilt top will probably just stay unquilted for a while. We'll see how much energy I have when I'm finished with the top. I might just do straight lines or something.

Phew! Glad I'm almost done with this project! Feels good to have something checked off the list before baby #2 comes. Now, back to easy going projects and swaps.

I can't believe how quick I'm making these suckers! I somehow managed to crank out 15 blocks today and complete the entire Stripes chapter! Phew! My blocks are untrimmed and not pressed very well so please don't judge me...haha. If you're wondering why my fabric choices are so funky, it's because I'm only using scraps and FQ's. Also, I'm trying to imitate the colors that Tula uses in the book :)

Onto the Squares chapter tomorrow.

CATCH UP! Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 34-47

I can't believe I haven't worked on these since last August! Wow! I must have really been exhausted in the first trimester to have abandoned this project! I was looking though some of my WIPs and decided I better hurry up and try to finish this one.

I managed to complete 14 blocks in the past two days. Picking out fabrics took the longest of course. I'm trying to use only scraps and FQs. I just don't feel like ironing out yardage and trimming it up for stupid small pieces...totally not worth it. My scrap pile is pretty ridiculous so there's something that's bound to work in there for each block.

I made it to block 47. Almost halfway done! I hope I can keep up the momentum and have all the blocks and top done soon.

Scrapbeelicious January Bee Blocks for Rachel

I'm trying to stay ahead of all deadlines due to the fact that anything can happen when you're preggo. I really don't want to get behind in any swaps or bees. QAL's can wait a little bit I suppose. 

Anyway, It's Rachel's turn to be queen for the Scrapbeelicious Bee. She chose the Anna Maria Horner Feather Block. I was really anxious to try this block since I wanted to tackle the feather quilt someday. Well, it went together pretty fast but I'd definitely make some plastic templates the next time around. I'll let her square them up so she can figure out how to piece them all the blocks together. 

Happy New Year & Scrappy Trip Around the World Bee Blocks- Round 3

Happy New Year! 2013 was a great year for me and my family! We had our ups and downs as everyone does but for the most part it was a good year. Here are a few fun things that happened for my family...

• Charlie learned to walk
• My dog Nala turned 4
• I became preggo with baby #2
• I started blogging
• My husband started a new job
• We went on a few family trips
• I bought way too much fabric

Round 3 of the Scrappy Trip Around the World Bee is coming to a close. I'm so glad I was able to whip these up before Christmas and have them ready to go. It's been a crazy holiday season full of projects and travelling. Here are my blocks for this round...
