So I decided to take the book block and make something else with it. I'm not really in the mood to start another quilt. I'll make it eventually but for now it needs to wait.
My daughter has all these great little baby books (the tiny 4"-5" ones) and they're just stacked up next to her toys. I wanted a cute little fabric basket to put them in and thought this pattern was perfect! All her little books fit so perfectly inside :)
I used the 6" block from the Stacking Blocks tutorial from Elizabeth Hartman available on Sew Mama Sew. I did not enlarge the pattern since it's 7" straight from the book already and that's the size I needed.
Wonderful boxes!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the block Stephanie! I'm giving the kids section a miss and only just made the teabag pouch! :o)
ReplyDeleteIt's cool. I was thinking exactly the same but I haven't made it. If I do I plan to add some handels so we can carry it around.

ReplyDeleteGreat basket. It's funny how this book basically has patterns that have already been create by others in blog land. I have been to the hops for this book and there is absolutely nothing we have not sen I. Blog land.
ReplyDeleteYou are just too clever for words. congrats on such a successful spin on the quilt idea.
