Tula Pink's City Sampler Quilt top FINISHED!!!

Well after much sewing I managed to finish my City Sampler quilt top in time to link up with Sew Sweetness! Not on purpose either! All my crazy ridiculous prints in one quilt. I chose to sew them on point with black and without the sashing. I like it much better this way. There are 98 blocks shown here. The other 2 will be used on the back somehow. Hope you love it as much I do!

My mom (she's funny) said "each block really is pretty ugly by itself." Haha...so true but when they're all crammed together aren't they pretty? Even the "ugly" blocks look fab!

Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 71-100!

Umm, would you think I'm crazy if I told you I sewed up the last 30 blocks in 2 days? Cause, I did. It's so crazy to think that I managed to sew up 67 blocks in the past week and a half!

I just couldn't stop. I was on a roll and having so much fun going through my scraps! Now for the fun part...laying them out and sewing them all together. This is going to be one crazy wild quilt made from all my funky scraps! Too bad the quilt top will probably just stay unquilted for a while. We'll see how much energy I have when I'm finished with the top. I might just do straight lines or something.

Phew! Glad I'm almost done with this project! Feels good to have something checked off the list before baby #2 comes. Now, back to easy going projects and swaps.

Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 56-70

I can't believe how quick I'm making these suckers! I somehow managed to crank out 15 blocks today and complete the entire Stripes chapter! Phew! My blocks are untrimmed and not pressed very well so please don't judge me...haha. If you're wondering why my fabric choices are so funky, it's because I'm only using scraps and FQ's. Also, I'm trying to imitate the colors that Tula uses in the book :)

Onto the Squares chapter tomorrow.

Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 48-55

I'm whipping up these blocks like hot cakes! So glad to finally be over the triangle chapter!!! Onto stripes and Haiku then I'm all done...I think :)

CATCH UP! Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 34-47

I can't believe I haven't worked on these since last August! Wow! I must have really been exhausted in the first trimester to have abandoned this project! I was looking though some of my WIPs and decided I better hurry up and try to finish this one.

I managed to complete 14 blocks in the past two days. Picking out fabrics took the longest of course. I'm trying to use only scraps and FQs. I just don't feel like ironing out yardage and trimming it up for stupid small pieces...totally not worth it. My scrap pile is pretty ridiculous so there's something that's bound to work in there for each block.

I made it to block 47. Almost halfway done! I hope I can keep up the momentum and have all the blocks and top done soon.
