Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 13, 14 & 15

Trying to get caught up and not fall behind! So far, I'm all caught up with the Sew Along! Yippee! They aren't crooked, it just looks that way because I didn't press them very well. Too much in a hurry to just get them done! Phew!

Kaleidoscope Pillow & 100th Post Giveaway!

Today marks my 100th post! Wow! To celebrate this glorious day, I have a giveaway! But first...my new pillow :)

I made another beautiful pillow yesterday. I was so anxious to make this Kaleidoscope picture the minute I saw Rita's version on her blog Red Pepper Quilts. I obviously decided to go a different direction with the style and colors. I really love the way it turned out! As if there wasn't enough going on with it already...I decided to do some stitching  in black. I thought about using Red or Yellow but Black really seemed to complete the look. What do you think?

Zakka Along 2.0 Patchwork, Please - Cafe Apron

You should know me well enough to know that a plain white apron will just not do. I had some of this beautiful twill fabric I snagged during a Joann's sale a while ago and thought it would be a beautiful for the apron. Almost too beautiful to maybe even use. You know, kind of like the towels I made here. Is it too busy...you ask? Not for me. The funkier, the better :)

***On a side note: I'm sure you know that Google Reader is going away in a couple days. You're probably sick of hearing about it as much as I am. If you want to continue to follow me, please make sure you do so through Feedly or Bloglovin. We're in the final days before the big shut down! Thanks a bunch!!!***

Finished Bloomin' Rainbow Pillow!

Here is the finished pillow! It looks so pretty on my couch and really brightens up the place! I decided on Alexander Henry's Kaori Floral Indochine Print. I really love the way it goes with the top! Almost all the colors are in it :)

Zakka Along 2.0 Patchwork, Please - Lettered Tea Cozy & Pouch

Here it is! I was so happy to get this thing done! The funny part is that I don't even drink tea! I just think it's so darn cute! Maybe I'll let my daughter use it for "tea parties" someday. We'll see. I quilted it with Hot Pink Sulky Thread because of the sheen it gives. I love Sulky for quilting. What about that gorgeous Art Gallery "Coquette" floral print? Love. I used a green wooden vintage button for the pouch. I love the way it looks with the purple dots!

Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 7, 8 & 9

Here are last weeks blocks. I'm falling a little behind but I'll get this weeks done as enough. I know these aren't perfect but I have too many other things to worry about right now. The seams are a little off but oh well! We'll see how long it takes for these to get under my skin.

Bloomin' Rainbow Pillow Top

I love the Bloomin' Quilt-as-you-go tutorial from Cori of Let's Eat Grandpa. I had a chance to really spend some time sewing and make something up. I decided on an 18" pillow because I wanted something kinda big! I went with a rainbow theme because it's fun and I can pick out some of my favorite scraps from each color. I love seeing my favorite scraps used in something like this. It's really easy to enjoy them this way. Here's the completed top. I can't wait to get the whole thing completed and on my couch!

It looks like a lot of work because it was.

Zakka Along 2.0 Patchwork, Please - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner Towels

Aren't they cute? I think they turned out fabulous and I can't wait to use them in my kitchen. Although they may be too pretty to actually use. I might just hang them up to spruce up these white walls! The "Lunch" one is my fav! The Kaffe prints look stunning on that neutral! I'm also glad that "Sophie Le Giraffe" twill tape came in handy! I'm a sucker for any free ribbons/tapes I can snag from any product boxes/packages or unusable gift bags.

My Modern Mini Challenge Entry

Here's what I decided to link up in the Modern Mini Challenge over at Ellison Lane. I can't take all the credit though because these are not my patterns. I did however come up with the idea to stick them all together in a fun mini quilt. Click the through the links to get the patterns for each block :)

September Blogger's Choice Bundle for Fat Quarter Shop!!!

Can you believe it? I still can't! Seriously.

Kimberly from Fat Quarter Shop contacted me and asked if I'd like to participate in the Blogger's Choice Bundles. Of course I said YES! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was. I almost thought she may have contacted me by mistake. I mean, Me? Really? My little blog? Haha....ya right!  I was literally jumping up & down...no joke.

I carefully put together this color palette trying not to come up with something too similar to the other blogger bundles. One of my favorite colors is Orange so I just HAD to have that in there. Well, Salmon/Coral/Melon (whatever) is what I chose because it went well with the others I picked. Why isn't Orange a popular color choice for people? It's so much fun! I love it!

Click on over to Fat Quarter Shop to be notified when it's available! These are some awesome fabric prints & solids to add to your stash! I promise you won't be sorry!

My Little Triple-Zip Pouch

I finally got around to making a triple-zip pouch. I used a tutorial of Debbie's of A Quilter's Table. I think picking out the fabrics almost took as long as actually making it! I wanted something very modern & geometric AND all I had on hand were black zippers. I didn't want something cutesy with black zippers! That would look just awful! I actually had some Kaffe picked out but then remembered the black zippers...BOO! So what goes good with Black zippers? Well, ummm...how about black? Ok, black AND some color! Here it is!

I used a silvery grey thread for the top stitch. Just wait until you see the liners...

Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 4, 5 & 6

I finally had a chance to whip up this past week's blocks. My daughter has been sleeping a lot which equals more sewing time...yay! I put on some Shrek and got to sewing right away! I have to take advantage of every nap I possibly can. I'm sure most of you can relate.

Tula Pink's City Sampler Blocks 1, 2 & 3

Well, I jumped in on the Tula Pink City Sampler Sew Along fun over at Sew Sweetness. Join the flickr group to show off your pretty blocks! Here are blocks 1, 2 & 3. I love how simple these blocks are. They are easy & fast to whip up. I'm still motivated to keep going so we'll see how far I get. Being a Gemini, I lose interest in projects quickly so something without repetition is a good change for me. When I'm doing the same block over and over and over, I just want to finish the quilt asap and move on! Oh, and these blocks are definitely my style!

A GOOD day for a GOOD deal!

Don't you love those days when you "stumble' upon the best deals at your favorite shops. In my case, my mom told me a local shop was going to be having an awesome sale and wanted me to go with her. Of course I jumped at the chance. You see, this particular shop is closed to the public and only open about TWICE a year! And when they DO open it is for a serious SALE! Of course I'M GOING! Whether or not I "really" have the money to spend on whatever they have to offer is besides the point. Haha. So, yesterday morning I got baby C and myself all ready to go, My mom picked us up, hubby stayed home, and we arrived about 20 minutes early....waiting for the door to open.

It's a cute little house (turned into a studio) right on the beach about 10 minutes from my place called Maisonette. The sale was from 12pm-6pm so an early morning wasn't a requirement....that is always GOOD! I'm not the type of person that's willing to wake up super early for a sale that starts at 8am or whatever. I'm lazy busy in the mornings so Noon is perfect for me.

Ready for the loot? Brace yourselves....you'll be jealous...seriously jealous.
